Characteristics and distribution of the resource:

• Demersal fish that lives between 50 and 3,800 m. deep, deep and cold waters. It is especially concentrated in the polar circle and along the coast of Chile.
• The sales format is as HGT (Headed, Gutted, Tail-off), Fillet or Portion in various sizes, vacuum packed and frozen at -18°.
• Main destination markets: United States of America and Republic of China.
• Average size: 91 cm.
• This species is famous for its white meat, high in fat and soft texture. A kilo of this product can cost up to US$70 in American, European and Asian markets.
